In all the furore about the New College of the Humanities, dubbed by critics Grayling College, there has been no information about the library and computing services students will enjoy. A search of its website, which reads as if written to attract international students, merely finds a statement advising prospective students that, 'you will use many of the resources of the University of London: the exceptional library in Senate House...'. The lists of staff contains no one with any responsibility for libraries or computing. If I were paying £18,000 a year to an institution for a degree course, I think I would expect better provision than this.
Update (and I am grateful to Adrienne Cooper, or sphericalfruit as she is sometimes known for spotting this). The University of London International Programmes Office has issued a press release. They say, inter alia, that 'no agreement has been concluded as yet regarding access to the Senate House Libraries by NCH students'.
